THANK YOU'S

A big thank you to YOLA for the 50% discount on hosting our website - every little bit helps and this certainly does!

New projects planned for 2015:

* We would love to upgrade our puppy pen. We had a number of puppies throughout 2014 and early 2015 and as nice as the grass area is, it just isn't ideal for the puppies. As such, we would love to cover it with artificial grass. We need about 12 square metres.

* A pool for the dogs to swim in - maybe a small cement or fibreglass pool? Collies love to swim and it gets really hot here. Plus it would add to their quality of life by providing action and entertainment! (More "stuff to do"!).

* Improve existing camps: For this we always need fencing and any donation of poles, wire and fencing would be much appreciated and welcome!

Goods donations:

We are always in need of dog food and our biggest wish would be to find a regular monthly donor. We also often have dogs that are extremely neglected when they reach us and need puppy food to improve their weight and condition.

Any donations of blankets, dog beds, continental pillows, towels, tick & flea shampoo, Karbodust, tick& flea prevention (Frontline, Capstar), deworming tablets, toys (especially balls), collars, leashes and brass tags are always needed and welcome. Our dogs sleep inside the "Dog Cabin" at the shelter at night and we urgently need additional plastic dog crates (the one's used for air travel) to cater for this.

Cash Donations:

It is never easy to ask for money, but we do have expenses that cannot be settled in any other way:

Budget for veterinary expenses = +/- R20 000 a year

Budget for cleaning staff wages = R21 000 a year

Budget for petrol costs = R18 000 a year.

Budget for purchase of dog food = R17 000 a year

For the major donor:

We would love to be able to buy the open land alongside us. As Collies need space, we currently use it for thei daily exercise, but are terrified it will be sold!

Airtime:

A single rescue or adoption takes a great deal of time to arrange and finalise and we would welcome some assistance in the form of airtime vouchers.
